Last weekend Jake and I went camping! We drove about 40 miles Northeast of Fountain Hills to Sycamore Creek. It was just the two of us and lots of fun.
Here is Jake building our fire.

Let there be Fire!!! (Insert song "I am the fire starter" for the Suns fans out there)

Iron Chef Jake is grilling us some dogs on our beautiful camp stove. (Thank you Grandma Dody)
Mmm...best dog I've ever had...while camping...at Sycamore Creek.

Here we are roasting marshmallows for our gourmet
smores, made with Reese's P-nut butter cups and
ghiradelli squares. Highlight of the night!

This is Jake pretending to be asleep, after he decided it was time for me to wake up.

For breakfast we made a sausage, egg and cheese scramble. And Jake made toast.

I am now The Fire Starter!
(
Ok, not really, Jake did it again, but I did take a liking to holding this flame on a stick)

Us by our cozy abode...Jake enjoying a cold beverage.
Right before we left Jake pulled out a paintball gun. I taught this tree who was boss, and a few other imaginary scouts. (I was trying to reenact Jake's last camp-out with the scouts where he really did teach them who was boss with a paintball gun.)

We had a great time and hope to do it again soon.
