Sweet 16...

...the March Madness kind, not the crazy birthday parties you see on tv. Yesterday Jake and I got to go to the West's Sweet 16 games which were held at US Airways Center, thanks to my step-dad.
Jake & I

John & Tyler

The first game was Xavier vs. West Virginia. I decided I was going to cheer for the WVU Mountaineers because I cheered for them at the Fiesta Bowl and I feel like I have some sort of allegiance to them now. Let's Go Mountaineers! Things didn't start off great for them.

They made a second half push and sent it to overtime, but their best player fouled out and they just couldn't hold on for a victory.

The second game was UCLA vs. Western Kentucky. Although the WKU Hilltopper was quite convincing (he was the weirdest mascot I have ever seen), I was cheering for the Pac-10 so that meant UCLA for me.

The red blob in the bottom left corner is the Hilltopper.

WKU tried to make it a game in the second half but UCLA was just too good and held on for a victory. Afterwards we ate at Cooperstown, a restaurant across the street, and although this next picture isn't from last night I had to include it. This was a different trip to Cooperstown when Jake ordered The Big Unit (named after the Diamondbacks pitcher, Randy Johnson).

Yep, it's a 2 foot long chili cheese dog! That's my Jake!
